DO YOU KNOW HOW TO BREATHE… CORRECTLY!? PART 3

Knowing May is Mental Health Awareness Month, I want to highlight that I have been, and remain very concerned, as I think about my 40-year career working with kids and teens in Mental Health, that young people still are not being taught how to breathe correctly for their performance, nor are they being taught effective breathing for the mental, emotional, and physical aspects of their life. My purpose here is to provide real help, right now by demonstrating on video how to practice the three-step breathing practice that I wrote about in Part 2 of this blog series.
The awareness about significant mental health challenges throughout our world today that is being created by some courageous young athletes speaking out is a critical first step. Yet, it is also imperative that we practitioners provide some true mental and emotional fitness skills that enable our youth to effectively manage frustration, confusion, anxiety, worry and fear. This breath practice I demonstrate on video is one time-tested skill practice. Please watch the video and concomitantly enjoy engaging in the daily practice of breathing to relax your body and calm your mind; to quickly reset following stressful moments. Best Breathing!
